I read a lot of reviews and wanted to give my two cents. I've broken so many glass coffee makers that I bought one of these. It says 3 cups because it's a "French" press and they drink Demitasse in cups of strong coffee. I make mine with a little more coffee grounds and then add hot water to my cup to fill the cup however I like. If the filters pour out the coffee too slowly, simply twist the lid a little and dispense more from the side. To avoid coffee splashing when you squeeze, simply place both hands on the plunger and slowly squeeze under your weight. I've had mine for 6 months now, I wash it on the top rack of the dishwasher and it's fine. And no, after all, nothing is indestructible, but a little care and caution goes a long way. And it's fun to have a colorful selection. I will also be using this little travel jug so I can sip my favorite coffee.
