I was very impressed with the quality of the optics as well as the build quality. Most major brand photo lenses are designed and manufactured in Asia, but at the prices you won't know that. The two biggest Japanese camera companies understood the same thing as the big tech companies. They make the most prestigious lenses, but they come at a high price. I only mention this because the quality of this monocular is amazing, and even more so the price. You can easily pay ten times as much for branded optics and it doesn't get any better than that. I've used cameras, binoculars, telescopes and other optical instruments my entire life and this monocular is just as good. With high performance you will find the disadvantages of cheap optics, but it has no disadvantages that I can find. Highly recommended!
