thread end? the best in electrics

This is a new addon to my previous review posted below. I initially gave the antenna 3 stars because I thought I lost the antenna at the car wash because I didn't tighten it enough when installing it. It turns out it wasn't. Today I finally tried to reinstall the original antenna and found that the antenna had just snapped off. The threaded post was still in the threaded end of the car's antenna receiver and had broken off just below the rubber edging that stabilizes the antenna and prevents scratching the car. So it will take some patience and needle nose pliers to get the broken off rest out so I can reinstall my Tundra's original antenna. I probably should have stayed with the OEM. The original antenna is 8 years old and has been through many car washes. I hope it will last another 8 years after reinstalling. ORIGINAL REVIEW The threaded end was not long enough to insert and screw into the car (Tundra 2013). I had to pull the threaded end out of the base of the antenna to lengthen it. Originally, the threaded end protruded about a quarter of an inch from the antenna. As I pulled on it, it carefully slid out of the antenna housing far enough for me to screw it into my truck's antenna socket. The first trip to the car wash caused the antenna to play a cruel joke on the disappearance. $17 down the drain. Maybe I was unlucky who had a defective antenna, so I don't want to be unfair to the seller.
