I had trouble keeping these combs in my hair at first, they tend to fall out quite easily. My hair is shoulder length but works well with layers but I've had success with other similar combs but the comb teeth are shorter than the ones that have worked for me before. I was able to get the combs to work well and stay reliably active throughout the day by adding a stealth hair clip to each comb. I used the combs as directed for the twist and then attached a hair clip to the comb's teeth - very secure with a slight allowance. I travel for work, so having my hair down in the summer but still being able to lean back in the seat is much more comfortable than a butterfly hairpin, and the twist looks more professional than a ponytail. The colors are mixed on it and I got black, white, light blue and pink - I use pink and blue for weekend/casual wear. The beads are plastic, so not the best option for an important meeting, but black and white combs are good for travel and everyday work.
