Review on Camco 0.5-Inch RV Water Heater Drain Valve Replacement - Easy Installation, Durable Brass Construction - (11703) by Mark Loebis

Are you sure you have a good one? very satisfied.

So far I really like the convenience of installing this valve. Yes, it drains slower than a 1/2 inch drain hole. It's a 3/8 inch hole after all, you can't get as much water through a smaller hole. A little advance planning and it's no problem for me. The second aspect is that many people face leakage problems when using this product. I'm not, maybe I'm lucky, but I can tell you how I use water and thread. First, I use thread tape (the white tape you buy at any hardware store). I glued both pairs of threads and pulled the two brass threads back together. Second, I installed a drain valve in the water tank and tightened it as tight as I thought I would. Tank filled and pressure adjusted. Immediately I had a leak between the tank and the 1/2" thread. I took my open end wrench and started tightening until the leak stopped and then added about 1/4 turn. I wiped everything down, 30 minutes under Depressurized, took it back out, but there were no stains. Maybe I was lucky, maybe it will leak over time? So far, good. To drain the tank I let it pressurize, turned off the water pump and opened the valve .be careful as it will shoot straight as long as it is pressurized, once the pressure starts to drop open the safety valve on top.refuel and let him finish.Hope this helps.
