Great docking camera. Lots of features to help teachers in the classroom and no PC/Mac required.

This is a handy device useful for connected users who work from home or do homeschooling in Zoom, Teams, etc. Connected: The camera is powered by any USB box. You can then install a memory card and even a mouse (or use the USB port for a memory card). From there, you can connect the camera's HDMI output to a classroom projector or screen, or simply capture photos or videos to attached storage. There is a microphone and a built-in light. The mouse can be used to "annotate" images. The built-in software can control the image output in picture-in-picture, picture-by-picture, slideshow viewing, etc. Very useful, but not in my case. Work or study from home with video chat software. By default the camera is in USB mode and looks like a regular camera on a Mac or PC. Use it with Teams or Zoom or whatever. Works well, with very good video quality. The microphone also works and looks like any other sound source to the computer. You can use the buttons on the camera to zoom in and out, rotate the image and control the focus. Good. On a Mac, I highly recommend using OBS. This free, open-source program creates a "virtual camera" that can be used in Zoom (or elsewhere), allowing you to creatively overlay multiple webcams and other video sources however you like. I use this to control the size and position of the document or object I'm sharing with my face, multiple audio sources, etc. The combination of Mac, this document camera, webcam and OBS implements a high quality "mini studio" for live video production. You feel like a director. Wonderful thing! Verdict: The device is highly recommended for both wired and offline use. Another tip: Make sure the USB cable is securely connected to the camera. Partial plugging "feels" right, the power adapter turns on but won't let the computer connect. Easily fixed but not noticeable.
