This is a quality shirt, especially for the price, but I wouldn't consider thermals. I'd say it's a bit thicker than the typical Nike Combat Pro Compression Shirt. That alone wouldn't be enough to keep you warm on a chilly/cold day outside. I would also say the quality and feel is not as good as big brands but very close to 1/4 the price. The problem is that it works very tightly/compressed. I'm 5'9", 182 lbs, 32" waist, medium build. Size XL was so tight it was uncomfortable and looked ridiculous on me. Also, the neck hole was very wide and weird looking, but it could just be my body. wear a 16-inch collared shirt. I plan to try her fake neck in size XXL.
