Review on Green Toys Shape Sorter Blue by Nestor Orbita

Really wanted to love this toy! I bought this for my child's first Christmas. We received two more sorters as gifts. I didn't take the rest out of the box until a few weeks after Christmas. It is more difficult for a small child to play with it. The shapes are on the edges of the saucer, so it can be difficult to line up the two pieces. In addition, the saucer-shaped toy ensures that it will tip over if you try to put a piece inside. I think this toy would be better for older children who can stabilize the toy and coordinate better when putting the pieces in place. to make it easier for an older child to disassemble and reassemble the saucer. For a younger child (from 6 months to ?) this is too difficult. We're not yet of the right age for this toy, so I don't know when we'll be able to use it more often. Whether you're buying for an older child or toddler, this is a solid toy made from recycled materials right here in the USA. I like that there are two of each shape. We use Fisher Price figures to build towers. My child used the Fisher Price My First Blocks more often, but I hope this block will be used when the child grows up. Update: All kids are different, but mine was able to start playing with it at 12. and 16 months. By that I mean she's started putting the shapes in the right holes, but sometimes she still needs help to stabilize them. She began to put the two parts of the spaceship together, but didn't twist them. When she was younger, she carried it around and shook it to make a sound. Then we started laying the two sides of the spaceship on the ground like a jigsaw puzzle. Edit: I don't remember exactly what age my child was able to use this for its intended purpose, but it was around 18 months old. She can support it with one hand and insert parts with the other. She also knows how to open and close it. I give another star. If it worked for the stated age range I would give it 5 stars. If you are getting this for an older child this is a good toy.
