Review on SOUNOVA Sunglasses Protection Prescription Replaceable Sports & Fitness by James Small

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Needs some improvement

Overall I like them but they have issues that make it impossible to give them 5/5. First, the instructions for changing the lens are inadequate. The nose piece just won't pop out. It has a hinge, so you have to nudge it against the hinge to get it out. There is no explanation as to how it works. It ends up seeming complicated just for the sake of complexity. Second, there is only one polarized lens. The marketing on this occasion gave the impression that everything was polarized. Basically, I only have 1 usable lens. The rest is meaningless to me. Removing and replacing doesn't seem to make it very secure either. The whole build now feels a little looser after the swap. Third, large blocks holding the logo to the sides limit visibility. Not as bad as other brands, but they're an annoying little blob on the side that serves little to no function. It doesn't help to think about it either. It's a little distracting. Fourth, while the extensions are beautiful, they are overly complicated compared to other sunglass designs. It is enough to have simple thickenings. Most people will never need to move them past the first setting. But I will give them props to dress them up. So many don't and push everyone away with big heads. The polarization is fine, the case is good and the overall feel of the goggles on the nose is excellent. It's just that this design screams "I'll stand out from the crowd" without considering why others work better. As if the engineer did it without the end user's involvement. It's not a terrible design, it's a good foundation. I just can't enthusiastically recommend it for the improvements needed.
