When my cat came home from the vet with an old fashioned hard opaque plastic cone, she ran around the house like a Tasmanian devil and broke until the cone cracked in 3 places and then broke. The nooses of hard plastic were digging into her throat and she REALLY hated that she couldn't see what was going on around her. The soft strap around her neck and the transparent cone on top of that cone put her at ease immediately. It's still a bit difficult for them to eat and drink with (but the other type of cone was even more difficult) so I take them down to feed them a few times a day and also leave them in their crate to use. She doesn't have any lumps on her head, but I watch her closely to make sure she doesn't itch. The closures make it very easy to put on and take off. When I put it back on she was very relaxed and seemed just wanting to take a nap. It's super cute too. Lifeguard all around! Simply measure your pet's neck to ensure you get the right size. The average size of 6-9ft is just right for my 16lb cat in the last pictures. (She just went on a diet ;))
