Review on Noctua NH-D15S chromax.Black: Premium Dual-Tower CPU Cooler with NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fan - Black by Linda Floyd

Wow. I just received mine and all I can say is that the packaging is hardcore - three boxes and two layers of air and foam between the device and the world. You could probably play rugby with this pack and the part inside would not be damaged. The cooler itself is about half the size of my head. I expect a lot from him as long as he gets down to business. My desired result is significantly quieter standby and voice recordings, as well as significantly better heat dissipation under heavy loads. 4 year old AMD FX processor (Socket AM3+), probably an 80mm fan. I will compare them after installation and report here. Impressive. The idle temperature dropped by 10 degrees, in the Prime 95 test with 100% CPU load the temperature dropped from 44 degrees to 29 degrees (!). As quiet as possible. I turned the fan to 100% and the noise was minimal. My minimum standby temperature is now 13 degrees Celsius and room temperature is 21 degrees. I am very happy with the results. Installation was pretty easy. I used the thermal paste that came with it because I didn't want to waste another $10 and they give you a large tube that will do for many setups. I assume they mean business when they tell you that you have to remove the cooler to transport the case. The packaging is the best I've seen for a computer part. NFA.5's stars are well deserved.
