Review on Illuminate Your Garden With Moonrays Beaded Stake Light In Multi-Color by Ameer Kobblewood

Fun and suprisingly attractive. Recommended

Inexpensive solar panels, NiMH batteries, and charge controllers have created a tidal wave of outdoor lighting products. For my part, I have installed quite a few marker lights and landscape floodlights. The attrition rate of these devices is high, but acceptable considering the entry price. The Moonrays 96315 Beaded Stake Light is a more decorative take on this integrated power/light concept. How is it?This product ships with the items disassembled, but assembly takes ony a few short moments. Everything is slip/friction fit, so no tools are required. That's good for quick setup, but maybe not ideal for set-and-forget assembly permanence. The stakes are tipped in plastic. they went into my soild easily, but you should use care if driving the stakes into red clay soil (or where you may have sub-surface rocks). You will rotate the assembly to point the solar cell toward the are of the most consistent sun - that's generally to the south. You can then tilt the solar assembly. The appearance of the decorative balls is attractive in the daylight. There's more grout between the beads than I expected, but it works. It looks especially good when lit up. I've posted a couple intentionally underexposed pictures to illustrate what the illumunation looks like. My biggest surprise, though, is the runtime of the light, given the daylight charge. Since spring, the lights are generally still running when the sun is starting to come up the next day. Most of my solar lights are higher output, so I'm not used to them lasting as long as the Moonrays light. As a decorative accent, I think the Moonrays lights are quite nice (and certainly nicer than products like lit gazing balls). Recommended
