Need better glue

I bought this to attach to the dashboard and use as a phone magnet. The glue doesn't stick well and keeps moving. I even cut my finger trying to put it back on because the edges are sharp. If you want to use it as a magnet and plan on attaching something to it that doesn't lie perfectly flat, try something else. PS I live in Ohio and it's not even very warm here. He did that all winter.
