This is a fan. Nothing about this fan will surprise you if you've ever had one. It has a good motor and high speed, which maintains a constant flow of air without getting hot or fading. The swing function means you can use it to circulate the air throughout the room, or if you prefer you can turn the function off and direct all the air in a constant direction as required. To make the most of the space in my old, dated apartment, I had to put my desk at an angle where the central heating and air conditioning didn't move the air very efficiently. So in order to keep a constant, comfortable temperature while writing, I have to let air circulate in this area. This fan works well to circulate already temperature controlled air. My only objection is that while the oscillating function works well for panning horizontally, it lacks vertical movement. You can tilt your head a little, but not enough to make a difference. While the base is adjustable so you can adjust the fan to your desired vertical height, once you position it, it stays there. If you need air at an angle, this fan won't help you. That being said, my experiences have been mostly positive for its price range. This fan is quiet, doesn't use much power and has served me well for several years since purchase. As long as you don't have to tilt it to blow over or under something, it will serve you well and will likely last a long time. This is a mostly positive product for its price.
