Excellent: Cheap replacement for the original key

Good: This is a replacement case for the original key. We have the 2013 CMax Energi plugin. I was able to disassemble the original key and move the battery, circuit and contacts to the new shell and it worked great. No reprogramming or expensive trips to the dealer required. Not so good: The quality isn't as good as the original as it feels lighter and the button feels less solid, but for the price I can't complain. Process: I'm an engineer, but as long as you're familiar with opening and closing gadgets, you should be able to do it with no problem. In my case, my key spent too much time in my pocket and the button was pressed too hard until the key accidentally pressed the button and unlocked the car or rolled down the windows. I opened up the original key twice and tried to rearrange the button pins but I knew they were too broken to salvage so I checked out this case replacement that came with the new buttons and pins (exactly that, what it took me to remake the key again ) To make a transfer: 1) Pry your old key through the metal side. Don't be afraid, you won't break it. Just use a small flat head screwdriver. 2) After opening, remove the watch battery. 3) Pull out the metal holding the battery the way you want it. Be careful not to bend it too much. 4) Take the small board from the other side of the key. Make sure you have a body discharge bracelet to avoid burning components. Or just hold it with a small pair of pliers. 5) Remove the plastic case embedded in the circuit. 6) (Optional) Use some rubbing alcohol to clean the pins on the circuit board. It doesn't hurt but do it with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol and very gently. 7) Open a new shell. 8) Place the plastic holder on the circuit 9) Place the circuit board on the shell 10) Insert the metal piece on the other side of the shell. and then put the battery back in (make sure you don't reverse the position of the battery) 11) close the shell 12) transfer the physical key from the old shell to the new shell. Or just make a copy of the physical key in a regular locksmith shop (it comes with a new blank). Close and check. It should work like new.
