Review on Munchkin Ocean Squirts Bath Pack by Neil Biondo

Beautiful, just hurry up to replace them

Seeing so many negative comments about these toys and molds, I feel like I should share my thoughts on mold and squirt toys. The only way to get rid of mold is to buy bath toys without holes so you end up with a basic rocking chair. All squirt toys need holes to squirt well. Even with the best intentions of removing as much water as possible there will be mold and the only difference between our experience with these toys is how quickly or how long it takes for the mold to form. Remember that mold spores are ubiquitous and ubiquitous, and moisture and even soap can encourage their growth. The only factors that affect the rate at which mold develops are the size of the spray holes, drying conditions/ventilation (bathrooms have higher humidity levels on average per day), and how the toy is used (spraying vs .simple wetting and standing). in the shower, constant chewing, etc.) and how much you can actually squeeze out. My daughter now takes these toys in the shower just so they "talk" to each other. A year ago she dunked her in the bathtub and actually squirted. This is my third set since she could sit in the tub and I've seen a different life in each set. Every set I had was from different manufacturers and had different hole sizes. What I love about this set is that it's cute. Second, all the holes are in their beaks/mouths, unlike some rubber ducks that have holes in the bottom that are in constant contact with water (ducks tend to have a heavy bottom). Not all face-swimming, these farm animals avoid constant submersion. The holes are really small and work to my advantage as my daughter doesn't really use them to squirt. For the price I would change them every 6 months or more depending on the first sign of mold. You can actually see mold in the form of "shadows" around cracks inside, such as: a dark ear etc. And let's face it, even the expensive teething toy, Sophie the giraffe, gets moldy! If your child doesn't put them in their mouth and splatters them and you buy them just because they're cute, try to seal the holes and that way you'll get a cute rocking toy and avoid mold problems.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • poorly thought out
