Great, fill with disinfectant water once a week.

Great squirt toy! People who complain about mold. Yes, you can. Alternatively, you can throw the water out after each use, and I top them up with sanitizer or bleach water once a week and leave them on for at least 30 minutes. I only had 3 of the 4 packs I ordered. And they probably overlooked when I disinfected them because my boys carried them out of the bathroom.

Mold issue fixable

As others have pointed out, the fact that these bath toys have tiny holes through which to spray water makes them a breeding ground for mold. To avoid this problem, I applied a small amount of aquarium glue to the opening of each toy to seal it. While they can't be used to squirt water, our kids don't really bother with them; They got just as much attention while bathing as the ones I replaced that sprayed. You just have to be careful that your kids don't chew it, which is desirable with or…

First time great! suitable for bath toys

My twins loved them until the end when I had to throw them away. Like any bath toy, they are moldy on the inside. My husband and I conscientiously squeezed out as much water as we could at the end of each bath and still to no avail, these favorites of my kids had a nasty mold growing inside them. Pieces came out every time you squeezed them *puke*! I've heard that putting hot glue on the holes can prevent it, but to be honest if there are kids like mine they'll be chewing and sucking on these…

mold grows. But my little one LOVES them

My daughter is one and a half years old. She loved these bath toys so much, both in and out of the bath. Ever since she started teething, she has been happily chewing on it. They were a popular toy. But I noticed that some toys have dark spots inside. I was worried about mold, mostly because she chews it and takes a bath with it. I've tried every household trick to kill the mold, I couldn't resist even trying to bleach them. But I couldn't get rid of the dark spots (which kept getting bigger)…

A+ must have (and easy to clean)

These are the best bath toys I've bought in the last 3 years! highly recommended! I have probably bought 5 sets of bath toys in 3 years and this is the first set that care about baby's safety. If your kids are like my girls (3 and 1.5 year olds) they probably all draw in their mouths. This bath toy set has holes in places that make draining the water very easy. It's so important when your kids use these toys as water guns to shoot water at each other's faces and mouths. Perfectly placed…

Smell of mold right out of the packaging, paint peels off immediately

It's very nice, but that's about it. I bought them to use with my baby in the pool. I docked the stars for 2 reasons. First thing I noticed after opening them for 3 hours of gentle play before even putting them in the water was that the sheep was missing color meaning my 8 month old had chewed it up. The second star disappeared because my son was squeezing the air out of the toy into my child's face and then finally squeezing the air into my face and it stank horribly! Not the smell of plastic…

Beautiful, just hurry up to replace them

Seeing so many negative comments about these toys and molds, I feel like I should share my thoughts on mold and squirt toys. The only way to get rid of mold is to buy bath toys without holes so you end up with a basic rocking chair. All squirt toys need holes to squirt well. Even with the best intentions of removing as much water as possible there will be mold and the only difference between our experience with these toys is how quickly or how long it takes for the mold to form. Remember that…
