Almost useless for memory card adapter

I bought these to add a 34mm wide USB 3.0 Expresscard adapter for use in my Lenovo X220. The adapter was quite loose and easily disconnected when the USB cable was unplugged, so I figured this would fix the situation. nope! It doesn't make the card any more stable internally, and when I try to unplug the USB cable from the card, the card still wants to get out of the car completely. waste of money.
