To be honest I cannot understand how this product has brought down some people's fevers. I have tested it on Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, Dell 15.6 and Lenovo 11" laptop and I honestly wouldn't recommend this product due to the "cooling effect". So for Macbook Air and Macbook Pro I used Tunabelly temperature monitor. .Although Macs do get hotter than Windows, I usually don't like it when they get over 80 C. This product failed to bring the temperature down in any meaningful way and I can safely say that this was caused by this product itself a 3C drop would be noticeable.Part of the problem is that this cooler has a nifty little fan in the middle of the panel that doesn't do anything for the Macbook. Also, the top of the liner is entirely plastic, which is actually the bottom Insulated metal surface of macs, you know the part that macbooks use to dissipate heat, the part that should absolutely not be insulated, for Lenovo I used Core Temp w ie my temperature control software. I had to put the laptop on its side so the fan was under the vents/vents on the bottom to get some cooling effect. But when you lay the laptop on its side, everything is a little out of whack. In terms of actual cooling, what I noticed was that the laptop was idling at a cooler temperature than usual, but without the help of this panel, every voltage and temperature rose. For Dell I again used the Core Temp software and to my disappointment the pad performed below average. So the question is why did I give it two stars instead of one when the cooling part is clearly missing. Well, it's on the underside of the pad. The bottom is a soft cushion that makes it very comfortable to place the pad and laptop on your lap while working on the couch/chair. That soft bottom is the only reason this product isn't a complete failure. It doesn't work with real cooling, but if you just want something to stand your laptop on, it's a good product. But wait. You pay $30-$40 for that suction cup and all you have is a padded laptop mat?
