Very impressed with this for the price!

I have a Sony A55V and bought this and Yongnuo YN560 IV at the same time. It arrived first and I have to say it's pretty darn cool! I didn't know it would be that small, but now I understand that there is a correlation with numbers (yes). Yongnuo arrived the next day and I will cover it below. It was the perfect size to fit in my camera bag and was very easy to use on my Sony A55V after I installed the ADP AMA shoe adapter (which you absolutely need to make this work on the Sony A55V). With the adapter it sits about an inch above the camera but still feels solid enough. I only used it one day because I decided to return it and use the larger 860II-S version, but the construction seemed solid and I think it was definitely worth it. However, as with other reviews, I have to say that the battery compartment made me feel like I needed to be careful with it, but that's not really a complaint. Because it's smaller and has a smaller guide number, the performance isn't there on larger models. You're not going to overwhelm the midday sun with this, so I went with a larger kit that includes a wireless transmitter, but I think a sunset setting would probably work. This particular model doesn't support high-speed sync when it's on-camera, and I didn't have a transmitter, so I couldn't test it. The zoom function impressed me with how much more concentrated the light becomes at the same distance. Although the Yongnuo 560 IV worked and had plenty of power, I decided to return it as it required installing a Pixel TF-334 shoe adapter. ON TOP ADP-AMA adapter works. I wasn't happy with the physics of this installation. If you have a Sony A55V (or 33/77) you will need these two adapters for Yongnuo to work with the camera.
