Review on Tripp Lite TLM626 6-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip with Right Angle Outlets, 6ft Cord, Metal Construction, and $75,000 Insurance - White by Keith Aluguvelli

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best of its kind, but without a metal bottom.

I really wanted an all-metal bandpass power filter but couldn't find one with a metal bottom (the plastic bottom could melt/catch fire if overloaded). All sides are metal and the bottom is plastic. The best I could find (studied many others that were of dubious quality and/or insufficient features). Benefits -1. Well-known, trusted brand (don't trust my safety to unknown brands).2. Separate devices for protection and grounding.3. Resettable circuit breaker inside.4. Disabling the stripe when removing protection. It is important. This type of surge protector has a limited protective ability, which is gradually reduced by absorbing surges (which is what joule value means - the higher the joule value, the higher the overall protective ability). Many surge protectors continue to provide power even when the protection is gone, which is dangerous. This one won't, so you'll know when to buy a new one.5. Very good price for quality and features.6. metal plates. Cons-1. plastic bottom.
