Good Inexpensive Webcam

Plug and play is when you plug it into your computer and it just works. Period. That was my experience with this indoor webcam. I took it out of the box, attached it to the top of my monitor, plugged it into a USB port on my Windows 10 desktop, and opened Microsoft Teams. Boom! It worked! Image quality was decent, although I don't think the lighting in my home office was corrected properly, but that's okay because most of the light in my home office is 2700K bright and slightly warmer. ' than you will find in the world of work. Once fixed, the camera can be rotated 30 degrees up/down and 360 degrees left/right. The field of view is 110 degrees, which is wide enough for most tables or small conference rooms. The built-in microphone isn't bad, but there's not as much noise-cancelling as we'd like. A few things a camera designer should consider when building their next generation. First, there is no camera cover for the lens. I like to cover my camera lens because I don't trust the internet. And there are times in meetings when I don't want my co-workers to see me at lunch. Second, there is no microphone mute button. I used a headset most of the time, but I would have preferred to have my mic muted all the time. Overall this is a decent and affordable camera. It's not high definition, but I'm sure my co-workers *don't* want to see me in HD. The only attachment method is the built-in clip. My monitors are set pretty high so I'll look for other ways to keep him from looking down on me. There are many mini tripods for webcams. For the price, this webcam is a steal.
