In general the saw is good but not perfect. I bought it because it has many features over other saws. Pros: The locking pin for 45 degree cuts is a big plus. It prevents you from moving the sensor when clamping. The updated square threaded clamp allows for a much stronger clamp than previous versions. Head shake is pretty well kept to a minimum in this new design. The safety pin is generally better than the old chain. The carrying handle, which is separate from the trigger handle, is comfortable to hold. The supplied blade is suitable for most mild steels. Cons: Base isn't flat: I was hoping for a flat base as this is their (most expensive) Duty model. However, the center plate is 1/16 inch higher than the rest of the table. The material wobbles on the table making it difficult to cut at the correct 90 degree angle is pretty good, but each cut will deviate a little. It's good enough for welding, but I expected more. Base Plate Height: I wish the manufacturers had the base plate 1- 1/2 or 3-1/2 high. It's about 2-3/8. When cutting I could throw 2x4 or 4x4 scrap wood on the floor to support the materials .We usually put it on the ground.Normal material could be used. Overall the saw is good, but the table isn't level, which really disappointed me. Update: Having cut many square tubes, battens and flat bars I have been using this machine for a long time. not many hours. The knife that comes with it is very good. As long as you don't cut anything flat (cut a square tube with a clamp adapter so it doesn't sit on the table, make sure the workpiece is cut vertically) to extend blade life, it's very good. I wish there was a brake so I didn't have to wait another 10 seconds for the blade to stop. . It would make my job more efficient and the saw a little safer. The top carry handle is handy, so when I'm carrying the saw plugged in I can't press the switch and turn it on. It also makes a good cord wrap. It would be nice if they put a pair of wings on it to help with that. The chip compartment is good, but loading from the back is awkward when it's against a wall. It only catches 50% chips, but I don't think it's any worse than other saws. I still wish she had an extra table as a skill. The table is narrow, additional support would be nice. Others don't seem to complain that their table isn't as flat as my wear insert. I'll have to spend some time figuring out how to fix this, which at this price point I wasn't expecting. I still like the 45 fence locking pins. I'm not worried about the clip moving it when it's actually rotating. A square threaded clamp is a must for this type of saw. I had a cheaper version that didn't and found it dangerous to cut 45 round tubing. Overall a decent saw. With a few modifications, this saw would have blown away the competition.
