Ryzen 5 2600 BIOS issue

Claimed to be compatible with AMD Ryzen 2000 series processors Unfortunately AMD Ryzen 5 2600 WILL NOT boot. After extensive troubleshooting, including removing peripherals one by one, I was left with the motherboard or CPU as potential culprits. Many web surfers have suggested that the Ryzen 2600 series needs a BIOS update. Can't remember the exact BIOS versions (maybe 3803 from the OEM?) but the required BIOS list says the Ryzen 2600 MUST boot , although it is not. The solution was to install an older socket AM4 processor (I had an old A8 lying around), boot into the BIOS, flash the BIOS (the last one might have been the 4000 series?), reload the Ryzen 5 2600 install and was good to go. I'm generally impressed with ASUS, but it's been a circus; and I felt cheated in choosing this MB specifically for its featured Ryzen 2000 series compatibility. If I didn't have an A8 processor I would return this MB for something else. While it was terribly inconvenient and I wasted HOURS fixing supposed compatibility issues, I think that ending is good, all's well. BIOS issues aside, this is a good MB with lots of potential for future updates. Once the BIOS issues are resolved, it is recommended. Otherwise, have an older A-series A4 processor on hand for a BIOS update before plugging Ryzen into it. HELP.
