Not practical. Not perfect. Who developed them? I drink tea half a dozen times a day. This is by far the worst infuser I have ever used. It opens, which means it closes. It would be great if dried fresh tea didn't fly out of the diffuser when you close it. And during use, moist tea gets stuck in the area "between" the open ends. You have to fish it out with your fingers, which is a challenge without baby hands. I could wash everything in the sink, but I'm stupid, I have one of those old houses with no drain. The stainless steel holder compares well to the mesh. I was excited to get them but didn't expect them to be such a chore and they are quite large but you can't fill them all the way because of the slide. So the size doesn't make sense for large teapots and really doesn't make sense for single cups. this is my take on my experience.
