This measures sag pretty well. I was hoping I could just push it against the swing arm and then pull it down. I could not. I had to try to hold it in place and then pull it down at the same time. So I moved it maybe a millimeter or two. I'd say it doesn't get any easier than using a ruler against a swing arm and measuring that way. Actually it's harder for me. I had to remove the muffler to measure it. I don't mind because it's only two bolts and proper chain slack is incredibly important. Some sort of adjustable rod or something can be added to push it against the swing arm so you know the device isn't moving and you get the most accurate readings. After all, it's not great, but it's not terrible either.
