This is one of those order-something-and-get-a-surprise type products. As the description states, the actual look of the stone may vary. OK, I'm all in! The product I received was terrific - although the overall shape was the same the colors of the alabaster stone is not what was illustrated. Surprise! For me that surprise was great. My wife loves the look of the alabaster and yes indeed the stone has some translucent properties. In my case the stone is white with translucent veins. And yes, one side looks better than the other but that's what character is all about. So yes, I'd order again (because I like surprises) and the product arrived on time and well packed. No complaint at all.
