Haven't had time to fully test the strength of the magnetic connection, but so far I can see a 100% improvement over the mount that came with my last tripod and at least one other tripod. I tried to use. The problem I've had with some of these is that they only hold the iPhone (YES! iPad 12.9), the port brackets usually get in the way, or completely cover the power and volume buttons on the sides of the iPhone, and unless you have one with added resistance (from string or packing twine), the iPhone tends to pop out or even fly out of the spring-loaded mount to spill onto the tripod. He doesn't have any of those problems. You'll need to attach the supplied thin adhesive-pretreated metal pads to your device(s), which in turn will stick to the mount's magnetic plate, which shouldn't be a problem once you see how much better the magnetic connection is. I lined up the plates before attaching them to two of my devices (3 included and you can order more if you need them), both of which I attached to my cases. Of all the positive aspects of this method of mounting a mobile device on a tripod. I keep forgetting it's only $6.99. I would go with something closer to $30. I'm glad I didn't.
