This cable works! in cables and connections

Connecting an old 27" iMac to a newer 2019 Mac Air for use in the target display. The only thing I ordered is 6ft and I get a 3ft cable instead. Sometimes there is no sound on iMac but all you have to do is unplug the cable and plug it back in. It just worked! I've tried many cables and yes! It worked.
