These are Square Shank Coarse Thread Self Tapping Pan Head Stainless Steel Screws. (They are NOT countersunk screws.) Stainless steel screws are softer than most other screws; Consequently, a square shank head is more prone to deformation when driving a screw, especially when reused. Use strong pressure and a fresh bait for the best chance of success. I would only use them for applications where weather resistance or aesthetic considerations justify choosing a stainless steel. The heads appear to be slightly larger than other #10 bolts in my shop; This larger diameter is probably better for spreading the load on softwood, but you may need to use a different countersink than you would normally use for hardwood. They arrived in a plastic case, which is ridiculous for this purpose. But for another use it would be great - so I was disappointed that mine (like others) arrived broken and therefore unusable.
