Review on G Technology 0G05218 Atomos Master Caddy by Scott Yenson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Warning: It may have an Atomos logo on it, but it will not fit the Ninja Blade recorder.

This Master Caddy WORKS in my new Atomos Ninja Blade. Got to. It is made for Atomos products. HOWEVER, good luck removing it from the recorder. The thing is so stuck I had to use pliers to get it out. At first I thought I was doing something wrong. I've looked through the manuals of both the drive and the recorder to see if there's a procedure for extracting the container, but couldn't find anything. Then I went online and found that others had the same problem - although it was made for this product, it is almost impossible to remove through damage. Case that comes with the ninja blade. I may have to do this. It's either that, or I'm returning this bin, refunding my $100 and trying to find a hard drive that I can fit into the plastic bin myself. So yes, I am disappointed in this product. PS (March 2019) I should add that I found a way to work with this disk and be able to remove it from Atomos. You have to use it VERY carefully and not push it too far. Far enough away that it kind of snaps into place. Then you can remove it without pliers. But it's a subtle dance. Every time I put it in my Atomos I hold my breath a little and hope I don't push it too far.
