I bought this board for my watercolor class because I'm taking it home from school. I used to use plywood as the panel and besides being ridiculously heavy to carry, it left marks and stains on the back of my watercolor sheet and smelled awful when wet. smell when i wet it. This may require staples, and I've seen my classmates re-attach their papers to the board over and over without destroying the structure. However, I'm overly careful with my belongings and have devised a system of paperclips and waterproof popsicle sticks to stretch paper instead of staples. It works really well and I'm so happy I spent a few extra bucks to get this board which is definitely worth the extra money.
