I bought this board for my watercolor class because I'm taking it home from school. I used to use plywood as the panel and besides being ridiculously heavy to carry, it left marks and stains on the back of my watercolor sheet and smelled awful when wet. smell when i wet it. This board may look like cheap Styrofoam board, but it does a lot better for stretching watercolor paper. I tried cheap styrofoam and it warped a lot. This board warps but not as much as wood. The warping is very small. I used it to stretch Arches 140# cold press paper and to use a heavy duty stapler. I had Grafix Incredible Art Boards before I bought them from Revain and I was very impressed but I think what I received in my order was old stock or seconds because they weren't perfectly even to begin with and the " Sandwich" from were the three layers were not even in a circle and in some places there were chips.
