I used this reservoir on a desert hike. It held water and cooled it. However, when I took the hose apart to clean it, I found that the bite valve is made of soft rubber and doesn't go back into the hose! Once you take it off to clean it, that's it. It will never come back. I tried to squeeze but it's such a soft rubber that it doesn't climb back. Additionally, the bite valve rubber is located inside the bite valve cover, making reinstallation impossible. I could probably send the bite valve back myself but the lid will never fit as it doesn't fit on the bite valve! Not sure if it's just bad design or if you shouldn't take it apart to clean it. All the others I've had can be taken apart to clean the hose and bite valve.
