Review on 🌑️ Boone Hearth's Magnetic Stove Thermometer in Color-Coded Design for Enhanced Wood Burning Safety by Dexter Rasberry

Good reference book

Good. If you have a double-walled pipe, this will not help. He can't read through walls. You need a "probe" type. To do this, you need to pierce both walls and insert the probe into the chimney. I don't like this idea. This can lead to exposure to carbon monoxide if not done properly. But we have installed monitors anyway. So we placed this sensor at the top/near the front/above the glass door of the wood stove. We have a thermal gun for comparison. We put this oven thermometer in a spot that gives us a decent reference point when compared to the heat numbers. Seems pretty close. Not perfect. But decent. If you have a single wall chimney this should work fine. It is magnetic and sticks well to metal. There is no dialing protection. Be careful not to hit or bend the needle. The colors on the dial are easy to distinguish. Good reference at a reasonable price.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Sad packaging
