I bought this subwoofer to use as a second subwoofer in the back of a large family room. I set up a crossover in the receiver and use the volume control on the back of the subwoofer to dial in the amount of bass I want. Now the whole room has the right bass balance that I wanted. Works well for movies and music. I have all def. This. speakers so it fits perfectly. The price of $299 for a refurbished unit was nice too. I've never blown up a speaker, even in my younger years, so this will take as long as I need to. It's the perfect size to fit discreetly in a corner. I'm very happy with this little sub.
