A little time and patience will make this installation easy. I drive a 2003 Avalanche. The 3rd and 4th speed air conditioner stopped working. Replaced speed 1 and 2 speed controls last year and problem was solved. There were no changes this year. The resistor is also new, as is the recent purchase of a new A/C compressor and fan. I removed the pigtail (a tip I found in the new resistance comments here on Revain) and found two burned spots. Today I made two sets of stickers numbered 1 through 7 and stuck them on the existing cables and the replacement. Luckily I have a heat gun so I can weld the sleeves to the cables. I now have all AC/Heat fan speeds. It was an investment purchase in my book. I needed this financial break after recently spending $641 on a new compressor and fan motor.
