The ABS worked for a split second when I slammed on the brakes from 60 km/h on the same road (city, freshly laid asphalt) when it was dry, but when I did the same thing in the rain (ideal conditions for aquaplaning), the ABS didn't turn on at all, and the car came to a stop as if a pillar had been driven into the ground in front of it. After checking to see if the bumper had been entangled in the asphalt. When the first snow fell, I got soaked and had to drive home through it. I was careful and drove slowly, but carefully, and used my brakes whenever necessary. After getting acclimated to the goodrichs, I had to adjust to the lack of slowing with the bridgestone blizzak revo gz winter tires. The vehicle is a front-wheel-drive Opel Vectra A that weighs around 1300 pounds.
