Excellent for removing coarse sediment from well water. There's quite a lot of sediment and iron in my well. I use Rusco 1-12-100-F as a water softener pre-filter and 5 micron post-filter. It catches most of the sand and grit before it goes into the water softener. I installed a 3/4" Rainbird sprinkler valve on the dump valve, along with a programmable electronic interval timer, so sand and grit are automatically flushed for 10 seconds each day. Works like a champ!
