Ideal for setting up an aquarium filtration! Has worked great for 10 years!

I love these sets! Over the past 10 years I have purchased several of these kits to customize the filtration in four of my aquariums (90g, 75g and two 29g). While I had to make a few minor tweaks to get everything perfect, the kits gave me enough options to get it working. And they are well preserved after ten years of use. Advantages: β€’ Lots of details to customize the filtering almost at will. β€’ Valves have built-in water flow regulators. This is very important to ensure even suction when combining several suction grids and accessories such as a surface skimmer. β€’ You can combine pipes with holes to create a drain down the length of the tank. β€’ Easy to fill canister filters. β€’ Easy to cut. , grind and glue. (I use JB Weld Waterweld Epoxy.) β€’ Color stays black under water; goes well with a black background and black back. β€’ Well preserved after decades of use. β€’ There is no similar kit to set up filtration; Purchasing the different parts separately would be a difficult and time-consuming task. Disadvantages: β€’ No raise/lower tool to accommodate accessories with smaller inlets, such as e.g. B. surface skimmer to allow. Instead, a transparent hose is included to connect the connections, which looks ugly. However, a neat appearance can be achieved by placing 1/2 inch tubing inside the valve assembly to fill the gap without showing it. β€’ When starting a long life filter, sometimes a large tube will slip off the outlet side of the top/wall assembly. This is easily fixed with Teflon tape. The aquariums I have used these kids in are CO2 injected plant tanks with surface skimmers. surface skimmer. The inlets on both filters are the same, with 2-3 inlets evenly spaced on either side of the tank. This helps trap dirt at all water levels. is dumped back into the tank. The only difference is that the filter The left filter (with surface skimmer) is placed in the center of the pool while the right filter (with C02) is placed near the bottom of the pool. The bottom outlet guides CO2 through the entire tank, starting at the back and moving it to the front of the tank. This distributes the CO2 evenly. The bottom drain also helps lift fallen dirt back up into the water column where it can be sucked into the filter's air intakes. The outlet in the middle contributes to good water flow throughout the aquarium, which is important for aquariums with plants. Although this pipe is visible, using a black background makes it less visible. It then becomes practically invisible as the plants grow. The main changes I had to make were (1) cut the large tubes to the correct length to position the inlet screens and exhaust pipes the way I wanted and (2) matched the surface skimmer to the left filter inlet. The air intake sizes didn't match, so I put a small piece of 1/2" tubing in the valve assembly to take up extra room to connect the surface skimmer. plus two photos of my 75g aquarium so you can see what the Customflo whistles look like in a tank with plants, decorations and a black background. pretty much everything you need to create any filtration design imaginable. After over a decade of use, they're still as good as they were when we first started.
