Air conditioning successfully overhauled in our '07 Ford Freestyle. My mechanic didn't think it was that easy to fix and wanted to sell me a new compressor but I told him I wanted him to just vacuum up the refrigerant, replace that detail with the plate on the compressor and then fill it with refrigerant. . It did what I wanted and works great again. I would do it myself, but venting the refrigerant into the atmosphere is illegal and I don't have the equipment to do it properly (vacuum pump).
