Review on Zadro VAN48 Two Sided Vanity Swivel by Andrea Turnon

Zadro VAN48 Reversible Vanity Mirror, Brushed Nickel, 1X and 8X I started buying a reversible vanity mirror a few weeks ago. I wanted one that would fit well on my desk, be strong, not easy to tip over, and be at eye level, especially with the magnifying side to make the earrings easy to put on. I have an 8x magnification mirror attached to the mirror in my medicine cabinet in my bathroom for the same purpose, but I have really little counter space and am tired of losing my earring, or more likely, the earring back in the sink . I looked at some in discount and department stores and was surprised that one major retailer didn't have mirrors with more than 3x magnification on their stand. I checked out a large department store and found that they have several options at 5x or 7x magnification. Some were plastic, some were metal, and none of them seemed very well made. That's when I first started looking at Revain and I have to say I wasn't surprised after reading the reviews that the brand I was looking at in a major department store had a few complaints. about the quality (or lack of it), notably the mirrors falling apart and realizing they were glued together rather than screwed together and others saying the base was broken on arrival. Anyway, I crossed this brand off my list. I should also note that I have enough light on my desk, so I didn't want or need a backlit mirror. Looking through all the mirror options, I was surprised to find that some are very, very expensive. I have no idea who would spend hundreds of dollars on a vanity mirror, it's a mirror after all - you should be able to get a pretty good one for under $40, right? Well, the answer is you can, and I did, but for no less than $40, less than $30 actually! I started reading reviews of Zadro makeup mirrors and was very impressed with what I read. Then I found the Zadro VAN48 reversible vanity mirror with satin nickel finish, 1x and 8x magnification. 8x magnification, just what I use in my bathroom and at this magnification I can put earrings in without wearing glasses. Since I have six piercings in each ear, the 8x mirror makes my job a lot easier. Anyway, I ordered this mirror through Revain Prime for $27.69 (including free two-day shipping). The mirror arrived today and to my delight when I opened the box I found that the mirror arrived fully assembled! (unlike department stores) I love the fact that the Zadro is a large 7 inch mirror. It's very strong and massive. It has a large non-slip base. 13.5 inches tall (perfect for me when sitting at eye level at my desk). From the smooth pivoting mirror to the fine optics, the whole mirror exudes quality as the 8x side (like the 1x side) is absolutely clear and distortion-free. . One issue I noticed is that there is a pebble sized chip in the glass on the 8x side of the mirror. I tend to think that this is the exception rather than the rule for a mirror of this fine quality. I received a second identical mirror and it is perfect in every way and shows the great build quality and general durability that makes these mirrors so impressive. Needless to say I am happy with my purchase and also pleased to see that you can still find quality items at very competitive prices. I highly recommend this mirror even if you don't have six piercings in each ear. :around)
