I really like this stand. In the photo attached to this review, my round monitor base is about 8 inches in diameter and it works great. In case you're wondering, the distance from the pen/phone cutout to the back of the stand is 8.5 inches, allowing my monitor to fit straight without overlapping the cutout. I thought it was plastic it wouldn't be very durable but the stand is quite thick and the legs stand up well, don't slip. I use it with 2 out of 3 risers. I keep two extra risers on the back of the box that comes with the kit. It's very handy to have a drawer to store small items like paperclips. My Samsung Galaxy also fits nicely in a ditch.
