I was skeptical of them, and with good reason. To stay clip-free in your hair, KNOW it has to really "grab" your hair. And they do. I don't like seeing broken hairs on curlers when I take them off. No matter how gentle you are, you will lose or break a few hairs on your curler. However, they do their job. Great waves, curls and volume! I'm straight and bought these to straighten my hair without heat. It works! My hair looked shiny, smooth and voluminous. However, I would recommend old school plastic rollers simply because they are healthier for your hair. I don't know if they work as well as this one.
