Spliced interior and headlights on a cargo trailer. I ran out of those quick couplers (scotchlocks) and put them online. I found a good choice for not a lot of money. They will not work with AWG wire. The American Wire Gauge is too thick conductor and insulator. They are probably good for cheap thin stranded wire with insulation. I kept bending over the metal piece to keep it from piercing the wire. The whole load went into the garbage can. Time is cheap and time is money. I pay more for a quality product and save money in the long run.
