Firstly, it arrived much quicker than promised, which is good because I rarely order anything that doesn't meet Prime requirements and I was concerned to resolve issues, but don't worry about this item. It smelled kind of chemical on arrival and was wrinkled from folding. I washed it according to the label instructions and it came out beautifully with no wrinkles. A bedspread is not a blanket, it's two layers of fabric with no batting, so it's perfect for summer here in New Mexico, but don't rely on it to keep you warm. It's reversible - both sides are identical except for the tags. The product is made in China which is a downside and I couldn't tell from the product information. I am very happy with the colour, beautiful deep aubergine purple, just like the picture. In terms of size - I have a large bed on a low platform, the height of the bed is about 22 inches from the floor. I bought size f/q. This bedspread reaches to the floor and is just long enough to cover pillows the old-fashioned way. If your bed is higher or you have a queen, it will be correspondingly smaller on the bed. I probably won't use overlays, I don't like them but they are sewn well, the top is the same as the blanket and the back is a simple matching fabric. Lightning is not activated. The "quilting" of these items is not done with thread, but by hot embossing the layers. It's looking good now, but I'm not sure if it will last. I'm happy with it so far - will update if there are any issues in the future.
