Wildly inaccurate readings when we needed to use it the most.Temps would greatly fluctuate within a matter of two minute intervals making the readings seem unreliable. For example, one minute, the thermometer would read 99.5 then a few minutes later after getting the thermometer to its base temp it would read 102.5. Another few minutes later, the thermometer might read 98.3. That's too much of a variance to make this item useful and I would not even want to average out the readings because of the variance.The flexible tip was somewhat awkward and made it difficult to keep the thermometer in my mouth. I think I now prefer the hard tip for this reason though I can see why the flexibility might appeal to some people.
