I typically only use CB when driving on Idaho logging roads to communicate with logging trucks to avoid them in tight spots on single lane dirt roads . I got President Andy for a cleaner, more modern setup in a Toyota Tundra where I had very little space and wanted the radio to be somewhat hidden in the center console and still look good. I hooked up an external CB speaker under the dash as the radio itself is hidden. Combined with the 3" Firestik antenna I have a good range of 2-5 miles in the mountains and the radio sounds really great. I've never heard other users with such clarity. The automatic noise canceling control makes it so easy to use that You don't have to constantly adjust the noise cancellation or miss calls.I was recently on an unfamiliar road where I couldn't find the marked channel so I used the scan option and caught the chatter, I called and found it was the correct channel used by lumberjacks and avoided a large lumberjack truck coming my way 1 mile Weather scan is also a nice touch when cell phones are unavailable to get weather updates Compact design is easy to use and I just have to look up the manual to find out how to change mode, turn off alarms/alerts, etc. A deutlic he improvement over the Uniden 510s I've used in the past, both in style and style. and performance.
