Solar fountains are advertised for birdbaths, but in a small birdbath, they float to the edge, spray out most of the water, and then the pump fails because of insufficient water. In the past I rigged up my own solutions to try to keep the fountain centered, but this solar fountain offers a simple solution with four easily installed spacers to keep the fountain away from the rim. I also like the fact that unlike solar fountains I have had in the past, the pump for this fountain can be taken apart and cleaned periodically. The fountain comes with several nozzles that make decorative spray patterns, but while they would work in a pond or pool, the resulting spray is too powerful for a smaller birdbath, shooting water outside of the basin.
