Quiet operation and excellent filter. but when it comes to cleaning pipes and canister baskets to avoid mud. it's almost not worth it. Disconnecting and reconnecting hoses is a nightmare. I literally have blisters on my arm from the last week of cleaning. I have one of these in a 36 gallon setup but additional filtration is required to ensure adequate filtration. I'm thinking of getting rid of mine and just adding a second HOB. It's easier and less hassle. This is a great filter if you don't mind a 30-60 minute weekly cleaning.
